We are currently supporting a project in The Bahamas tackling a deadly disease that is affecting corals, threating one of the most important marine ecosystems: coral reefs. This disease, called Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD), is the most recent threat to Caribbean coral reefs and could result on losing up to 90% of corals if we do nothing.

The organization in charge of this project is The Perry Institute for Marine Science (www.perryinstitute.org), an NGO that has been working for more than 50 years in The Bahamas to preserve coral reefs, coastal habitats and vital fisheries throughout, while working with local communities to unlock and implement sustainable solutions.

This video was created as part of the campaign to raise awareness of the disease and to involve as many people as possible on reporting any possible sight of the SCTLD. At present, SCTLD is confirmed in reefs surrounding 10 of the main islands of The Bahamas (see map below).

In red are the areas where SCTLD has been confirmed by researchers from the Perry Institute for Marine Science.

To provide transparency regarding the measures within this study, as well as others not directly assessed in this paper, 3 Axis Advisors, in conjunction with the McPike-Zima Foundation, has made available a web-based tool on www.3axisadvisors.com, for interested parties to explore. Furthermore, the website contains a text file (Insulin_Prices.txt) of the underlying data available for download free of charge so that anyone can further research the topic of insulin affordability. If you are interested in contributing to the global understanding of insulin prices, a survey (available in several languages) may be downloaded and submitted to contribute to the global understanding of insulin pricing.
